Steamboat Winter Carnival: Wed-Sun, February 5-9. The Winter Carnival brings the community together to showcase Western traditions and ski heritage. Winter Carnival honors snow, winter, and winter sports that make Steamboat Springs Ski Town, USA!
Monster Jam: Fri- Sun, February 7–9. Experience full-throttle family fun where world-class athletes and their 12,000-pound monster trucks tear up the dirt in wide-open competitions of speed and skill.
Friday-Saturday, February 14-15. Bring the family or your sweetheart for FREE fun in the Sweetheart City, including ice sculpting, fire and art demonstrations, musical and dance performances, and the Little Miss Valentine & Little Mister Cupid Contest. The Sweetheart Festival extends Loveland’s 79-year history as the nation’s Sweetheart City. There is something for everyone – chocolate, running, art, and so much more!
Silverton Ski Joring: Sat-Sun, February 15-16. The annual Silverton Skijoring event touts itself as the city’s biggest winter party. A lesser-known Nordic sport that combines water skiing, horse racing, and snow skiing, Skijoring is when a horse (or motorcycle) tows a person on skis through a set of obstacles while the clock ticks down.
Wild Things: The Art of Maurice Sendak: Through Mon. February 17. Named after Maurice Sendak’s “Where the Wild Things Are,” the beloved children’s book he authored in 1963 that became a cultural touchstone, this exhibition presents more than 400 of Sendak’s creations.
Cripple Creek Ice Fest: Sat-Sun, February 15-23. Annual ice sculpture carving challenge in casino-friendly Wild West Cripple Creek. As always, this event is free and open to the general public.
U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Mixed Doubles Curling: February 17–23 in Lafayette. The country's top mixed doubles curling teams will compete to determine who will represent the United States at the 2025 World Mixed Doubles Championship and 2026 Olympic Games.
WinterWonderGrass: Fri-Sun, February 28-March 2 in Steamboat. Part music festival, part beer festival, and part family reunion. Festival showcasing national, regional, and local bluegrass and acoustic roots music.
