My Favorite Closing Ever

It was for my mom, of course! She built this home in 2003 and that’s also when we moved in. I lived there as a teenager and later her current husband moved in. It was time for them to move on from their gorgeous 14-acre, 6500-square-foot, 4-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom home. It’s just the two of them and their 3 dogs, and they are ready for their next chapter.

Through the years, my mom tried to sell three times with three different agents, with multiple offers falling through. It happens.

I was the third and final agent and finally closed the deal! We staged their home with the help of my friends at The Model Home using the seller’s existing belongings and staging add-ins. The price we offered was more competitive with the current market. We committed to one price drop and got a full-price offer at $1,499,000. In 2023, price drops were extremely common as buyers and sellers adjusted to market supply and demand including interest rates. Despite this price drop, my sellers were happy and this was my biggest sale yet. Woo woo!

My sellers also invested a lot of time and money before selling including re-stuccoing the entire home, painting the entire interior, regular cleanings, decluttering, and a series of laundry list items from previous inspection reports from those deals that fell through.

I was able to communicate clearly with my sellers and the other agent in the transaction and we closed in just under 30 days once under contract. Find an agent who will invest their time, money, and knowledge into your home sale! It can truly make all the difference.
