New Homeowner News: Liz
Liz is my aunt on my dad’s side. She has also always lived in Colorado and has been in her sweet 1Br/1Ba condo near the University of Denver for over 20 years. She’s been talking to me about getting out of said condo for years. This year, it was finally time. She wanted a true backyard for her pup, Pippa, and more space for Pippa and her foster cat turned actual cat, Edguardo to get along. She was ready to get out of her HOA and was done with close neighbors.
These are the most relatable reasons in my mind - pets and privacy.
We searched for a few months, looked at townhomes, and even considered going in on a duplex with others - but ultimately she decided on her own single-family home. This closing didn’t come without challenges. We were beat out by another offer on a home she loved nearby. When we found this one and we were approaching closing and moving, she was assigned a 2-week jury duty. I worked with the title company to have a mobile notary come before jury duty to sign and close. We made it work! To top it off, the movers didn’t show up for her move and we had to find a new company as soon as possible, which ended up being the following day.
Despite all of this, we were able to get her, Pippa, and Eddy moved in. Her house is SO charming. It gives her 200 more square feet of space inside, but SO much outdoor space and SO much more space between her and the closest neighbors.
I can’t wait to see all the amazing things she does with her new space. Pippa approves!
