November 2024 Events

We’re in deep fall! The weather finally got a clue, too. Or does the weather think it’s winter? TBD…

There are tons of fun events in November, and lots of holiday events starting!! Here are some of my favorites:

Denver Film Festival: Fri-Sun, November 1-10
Back for its 47th year, the Denver Film Festival showcases hundreds of full-length films, music videos, and shorts at multiple locations across the city.

Denver Arts Week: Fri-Sun, November 1-10
All of Denver comes alive with creativity each November for over eight days as it collectively celebrates the city’s creative neighborhoods, museums, galleries, and all-around artistic vibe.

Santa’s Wonderland - Photos at Bass Pro Shops and Cabelas, through December 24 (FREE)
In-person visits with Santa, live elves, snowmen, reindeer, and take-home craft kits. Kids can get a free 4×6 photo taken with Santa, printed while customers wait, and a free custom digital video to share on social media. Make reservations up to seven days in advance here.

Denver Veterans Day Festival (FREE)
The area’s largest salute to freedom fighters is the Denver Veterans Day Festival in City Park on Nov. 9. This free, family-friendly event goes from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features a music stage, kids and family activities, military displays, and vendors.

Denver Fashion Week: Sat-Sun, November 9-17, RiNo Art District
Showcasing emerging, local, and national designers, the 9-day Denver Fashion Show includes daily shows that embody different themes ranging from kids’ couture to sustainability.

Downtown Denver Ice Skating (FREE): November 21-February 2
Denver’s Skyline Park (16th and Arapahoe St.) for another winter as the Downtown Denver rink welcomes locals anxious to lace up some blades. Bring your own skates or rent a pair ($9 for kids ages 12 and under and $12 for everyone else age 13 & older). All fourth-graders get free skate rental. Hours vary, so check the rink’s website.

Castle Rock Starlighting (FREE): Saturday, November 23
Fun fact, my first job was at Crowfoot Valley Coffee, right at the base of ‘The Rock’ and we participated in all the Starlighting ceremonies and made what feels like a million hot cocoas.
The Castle Rock “Lighting of the Star” has been a community event since 1936. The free event features caroling, dancing, Santa Claus, hot chocolate, Kids Zone and more. Ongoing festivities are from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Star lighting ceremony will begin at 5 p.m., with the star lit about 5:30 p.m., followed immediately by fireworks.

Denver Botanic Gardens Blossoms of Light: Fri-Sun, November 20 – January 12 (closed Nov. 28 and Dec. 25)
A stroll through the Denver Botanic Gardens is a delightful way to celebrate the holiday season. The Blossoms of Light extravaganza is a twinkling and breathtaking way to spend a winter evening.

Denver Christkindlmarket: Fri-Sat, November 22-December 23 at Civic Center Park
24th year for the month-long Christkindl Market in downtown Denver. Experience old German traditions with authentic cuisine, live music, holiday drinks, and an artisan marketplace.
